Connecting Unconsciously

Is it weird to increase in respect for someone because of something you see them do or say in a dream? I find that I do this. Not sure if there is any basis for doing so?

Mummy used to tell us that if you dream of someone it is because your sould met during the night. I don't know about the religious basis though.

The prophet pbuh did dream of Aishah and from my own experience it depends on the dream and the clarity of it. Shaytan can take on the appearance of anyone in a dream except for the prophet pbuh. If it could potentially be bad in anyway it may be better to disregard it. Difficult to control feelings but that is what leads to action.

I have heard this before as well but am also not sure about the religious basis. Let me know if you find anything.

As for the dreams of the Prophets, as far as I understand: they are true visions, always. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

As for the bad dream, what I find from personal experience: it causes fear, is often long-winded, contains inaccuracies and is forgotten soon after.

As for the good dream, what I find from personal experience: it is uplifting, concise, clear and etched in one's memory forever.

And Allah (SWT) knows best.

A selected Hadith:
"... I heard the Prophet (SAWS) saying, 'When one of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allah. He should praise Allah for it and relate it to (others).'"

Another narration adds: "Messenger of Allah (SAWS) said, 'He should not report it except to those whom he loves. And if he sees one which he dislikes, then it is from the Satan. He should seek refuge in Allah against its evil and should not mention it to anyone. Then it will not harm him.'"
